My Biography

Utan Green is a rising star of unlimited proportions.

He started out in the reggae business witha group called The Invaders, which comprised himself, his brother and sister. Later, Ian Carlos of Black Urhuru produced the group’s first recordings “Cry of a Poor Man”, and “Down in the Ghetto”. Therefore the group enjoyed some success, but was later dismantled and Utan Green Launched a solo career.

Since after he relocated from Kingston to Manchester in 1979. Yet Utan Green performed with legendary sound system “Destiny Outernational”, alongside popular artistes such as Kulcha Knox, Everton Blender, Yasus Afari, Tony Rebel, Deuteronomy, and the late Garnett Silk.

Many years laters of live performance on various sound systems and at community concerts. So Utan began Recording his own songs. His earliest recordings included “iI’ll be there” on the Rhythm Track Label and “Oh No” on the Good Stuff Label.

In the mid 1980’s, Utan Green embarked on an aggressive pursuit to propel his musical career, and his first notable hit “Cyaan Tek”.

“Victory to be Won,” – Roof Hut; “Man of Love” – Flames Productions. He has also released the songs” Jah for Now and Forever,” launched by the Senya Cum Label”, Falcon Crest Woman,” through Christian Soldiers and more recently “Anser to all Jah’s Questions”, From Karlan “Rivers of Realities” is featured on the esence compilation released by Empire Production, and his also the title track of his recent solo album.
